Pupils experience world famous Roman Baths

Year 5 pupils from Summerhill Academy stepped back in time during an unforgettable visit to the world-famous Roman Baths in Bath, bringing their classroom learning about the Romans vividly to life.

The Roman Baths, a premier 2,000-year-old historic site, feature a remarkably well-preserved Roman bathing and religious spa complex.

During the visit, pupils were guided through the site by knowledgeable experts who shared fascinating insights into the ancient history of the building and what daily life would have been like for people during that period. Pupils also explored the site using the Baths’ immersive audio tour, deepening their understanding of this iconic landmark.

Adding to the experience, pupils had the opportunity to dress in period costume, helping them fully engage with the history and culture of Roman Britain.

The trip was a day full of discovery, curiosity, and a touch of ancient magic, leaving pupils inspired and eager to learn more.

A spokesperson for the academy said: “This visit was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to experience history beyond the classroom.

“Seeing their enthusiasm as they explored the Roman Baths, asked questions, and immersed themselves in the past was truly rewarding. It’s an experience they will remember for years to come.”
